2026 Shaping Sacramento Scholarship
At the Law Office of Brian H. Turner, we are passionate about being involved in the Sacramento community. As a city built on movement, communication, and innovation, Sacramento has always been a hub for connecting people and ideas. Being there for those you care about and supporting your community is crucial in pioneering change.
This is why we are proud to offer the 2026 Shaping Sacramento Scholarship. We invite students to share their ideas on how they embody the qualities of Sacramento and how they got to where they are today. Prioritizing connection is powerful, and we want to facilitate the ability to share your story.

Award Amount: $1,000
Eligibility
- The scholarship is available to any current high school senior, vocational student, college student, or graduate student who is a legal U.S. resident living in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and is enrolled in a vocational program or a two- to four-year post-secondary institution.
- Employees of the Law Office of Brian H. Turner, along with their immediate family members (including parents, children, siblings, and spouses) and anyone residing in the same household (regardless of relation), are not eligible to enter the competition.
- Applicants for this scholarship must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing overall.
Application Requirements
- The candidate must fill out the form below with all necessary information
- The candidate must submit a 750-1,000 word essay response to the prompt: Explain how you embrace Sacramento’s historical legacy—whether by helping others, pursuing justice, advocating for safety, or overcoming personal challenges. Share your story and how you hope to make an impact on your community or career path.
- Please note that all essays will be checked for AI writing. If AI-generated writing is detected in the essay, the application will be denied.
- The candidate must submit a professional resumé that lists their experience, both professional and academic.
- The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred to a new school may submit an unofficial transcript from their current institution, as well as the most recent official transcript from their previous school. High school students can submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
- Preference will be given to students either from or attending secondary school in the state.
The recipient of the 2026 Shaping Sacramento Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline.
